Brought in my father's Seiko automatic, which hadn't run reliably in years. The team sent me a written report before doing anything, which I appreciated — it felt like they were treating the watch as something worth understanding rather than just fixing quickly. The full service took about three weeks. It's been running well since I got it back in April.

I had a vintage Longines looked at — 1960s, belonged to my grandmother. Ratana were careful about what they suggested and didn't push for more work than was needed. Communication could have been slightly more frequent during the restoration period, but the result was good. The case looks right — not overpolished — which was exactly what I asked for.

Finding a competent watch workshop in Bangkok that communicates in English is not as easy as you'd expect. Ratana handled everything clearly — the inspection report, the discussion about what the movement needed, and the collection process. The watch came back with documentation I could actually keep for my records. Will be back when the next service is due.

Travelled from Chiang Mai specifically because a collector friend recommended them. Had a 1970s Omega serviced — the team was knowledgeable about the movement calibre and discussed the work honestly. The timing results they included in the service record were a detail I hadn't seen from other workshops. Happy to make the trip again.

Came in for an inspection on a dress watch I wasn't sure about. They assessed it and told me honestly it didn't need a full service yet — the movement was in reasonable shape and the seal was intact. I was half expecting to be upsold into a full service, but they were straightforward about it. That kind of honesty makes you trust them with more serious work later.

I had two watches serviced here over the past year — a modern automatic and a 1950s pocket watch needing full restoration. Both came back in good order and with detailed paperwork. The pocket watch restoration took longer than quoted due to a broken pivot that needed careful work, but they flagged it immediately and discussed the cost before proceeding. No surprises.

The Situation

A 1965 Rolex Air-King inherited from a relative. Movement was erratic — gaining roughly 8 minutes per day — and the crown was stiff. The dial had some patina that I wanted to keep intact. I'd been told by another workshop it would need a full restoration but wasn't given any detail.

What Was Done

Ratana assessed the movement and found the balance spring had a slight deformation — not visible without magnification. Full mechanical service was completed, the crown mechanism cleaned and lubricated. They specifically avoided polishing the case and discussed dial preservation with me before touching anything.

The Outcome

Timing results show +3 seconds per day, which is well within normal range for a movement of this age. The dial remains original. Total time: 6 weeks. The service record they provided includes calibration data which I've filed with the watch's documentation.

"They understood why the dial mattered. That's not always the case with workshops that deal mostly in current watches."

The Situation

I noticed my daily-wear IWC was losing about 15 seconds per day — not dramatic, but enough that I started relying on my phone instead. It had been serviced elsewhere about four years ago but I didn't have great confidence in that work.

What Was Done

Full mechanical service. The inspection report noted that the previous service had used incorrect lubrication on the keyless works — a detail that explained the gradual deterioration. Parts were in good condition otherwise. Service took 3 weeks as quoted.

The Outcome

Running at approximately -1 second per day — excellent for a watch of this specification. The service record includes before and after timing data across 6 positions, which I found genuinely useful to see.

"The written report before any work started was reassuring. I knew exactly what I was agreeing to."
