Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 15 May 2025
1. About These Terms
These terms set out the conditions under which Ratana ("we", "us", "our") provides watch repair, service, and restoration work. Ratana is a watch workshop located at 58 Convent Road, Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500, Thailand.
By bringing a timepiece to us or submitting an enquiry through our website at ratanax.info, you accept these terms. If you have any questions before proceeding, we are happy to discuss them — please reach us at [email protected].
2. Accepting a Watch for Service
We review each watch before accepting it for work. Our acceptance of a piece is not a commitment to any specific outcome — some timepieces may present unexpected conditions once opened, and we will communicate plainly if the scope of work changes.
- You must have the right to authorise service on any watch you submit. If the watch belongs to a third party, you confirm that you have their permission.
- We will issue a written work order describing the agreed scope, estimated cost, and indicative timeline before any work begins.
- Any changes to the scope discovered during work will be communicated to you before additional work proceeds. You may decline any additions without obligation beyond the original scope.
3. Pricing and Payment
Prices quoted are in Thai Baht (฿) and represent our estimate based on information available at the time of the quote. Our standard service tiers are:
Where a watch requires work beyond its quoted tier — for example, sourcing an unusual part or addressing an unforeseen condition — we will advise you of the revised estimate before proceeding. You are under no obligation to authorise additional work.
Full payment is due on collection. We accept cash in Thai Baht and bank transfer. We do not release a watch until payment has cleared.
4. Timelines
Indicative timelines for each service tier are provided as a general guide. Actual completion times depend on the condition of the movement, parts availability, and current workshop volume. We will notify you if a significant delay arises.
We do not accept liability for inconvenience caused by delays outside our reasonable control, including delays in sourcing specialist components from overseas suppliers.
5. Warranty on Completed Work
We stand behind our workmanship. Completed services carry a twelve-month warranty on the work performed, subject to the following conditions:
- The watch has not been opened, adjusted, or subjected to unauthorised repair by any other party after leaving our workshop.
- The watch has been used and stored within conditions reasonable for its type — for example, water-resistant watches have not been used beyond their stated rating.
- The issue relates to the work we carried out, rather than a new or pre-existing condition not addressed in the original scope.
The warranty covers repeat service and adjustment. It does not cover replacement of parts that wear naturally over time or damage from accident, impact, or misuse.
6. Care of Your Watch
We handle every watch with care appropriate to its type and value. While timepieces are in our custody, they are stored securely on our premises.
Our liability for loss or damage while a watch is in our care is limited to the reasonable market value of the watch at the time it was submitted, up to a maximum of ฿150,000, unless otherwise agreed in writing before work commences. If your watch has exceptional value, please inform us and we can discuss arrangements accordingly.
We are not liable for pre-existing damage, wear, or fragility that was present when the watch was submitted, including any previously undisclosed condition that becomes apparent during service.
7. Uncollected Watches
Once work is complete, we will contact you using the details on your work order. We hold completed watches for up to 60 days at no charge. After this period, a storage fee of ฿200 per week may apply.
After 180 days without contact or collection, we reserve the right to treat the watch as abandoned and may seek to recover service costs through appropriate means. We will make reasonable attempts to contact you before taking any such step.
8. Parts and Materials
We use quality parts appropriate to the service type and the watch. For restoration work, we discuss part selection with you — original, period-correct, or quality aftermarket — and proceed only with your agreement.
Replaced parts are available for inspection and, where practical, returned to you on request. Parts removed as part of a standard service may be retained or disposed of unless you instruct otherwise before work begins.
9. Website Use
Our website is provided for information and to allow you to make an initial enquiry. Submitting an enquiry through our contact form does not constitute a booking or a contract for service — it opens a conversation. A service relationship begins only when a written work order has been agreed and signed.
We take reasonable care to keep information on our website accurate, but we make no representations as to the completeness or currency of its contents. Prices and availability are subject to change.
10. Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising in connection with these terms or our services will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangkok.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised date. The terms in effect at the time your watch is accepted for service are the terms that apply to that work.
12. Contact
If you have questions about these terms, we are glad to talk them through before any work begins.
